The LPFA Board of Trustees approved a resolution at its September meeting to advance the issuance of up to $150 million in bonds for the Qualified Broadband Project, which aims to improve broadband access in 22 Louisiana parishes.
A portion of the bond proceeds will fund the acquisition, equipping, maintenance and/or installation of about 6,800 miles of fiber optic network cables, equipment and customer premises installation in the following parishes: Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, DeSoto, East Feliciana, Grant, Jackson, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Rapides, Red River, Sabine, St. Helena, St. Mary, Tensas, Vernon, and Winn.
